history

The CALAIR (TF) Transport Flight GmbH & Co. KG was founded on 17 November 1970th With five leased by the manufacturer jet aircraft of the type Boeing 720 that previously American US with the company Eastern Air Lines were in use, the uptake of was IT charter flights in early 1971 planned. However, the Federal Ministry of Transport only granted Calair its operating license on July 6, 1971 , whereupon several tour operators terminated their contracts and the company lost most of the 1971 holiday season. The company then carried out occasional flights ( ad hoc charter ) and was unable to utilize its five planes as a result. Due to the lack of income and increasing liabilities, the company's financial situation deteriorated significantly by the end of the year. The claims of the creditors, especially the leasing installments for the aircraft, could no longer be paid. The flight operations were discontinued in March 1972 because the manufacturer Boeing seized the five rented aircraft. Calair filed for bankruptcy on May 13, 1972 .
