Charnwit Polcheewin ( Thai : ชาญ วิทย์ ผล ชีวิน , pronounced: [ ʧaːn-wít pŏn-ʧiwin ]; born April 23, 1956 ) is a Thai football coach and former player.

Career

He began his footballing career at FC Raj Pracha , with whom he a. a. 1980 won the Thai championship. However, Charnwit Polcheewin celebrated the greatest successes as a coach. From 1991 to 2000 he coached FC Thai Farmers Bank and led the club to four championships and two wins in the AFC Champions League . In 1994 he was elected coach of Asia. In addition to his work as a trainer for FC Thai Farmers Bank, he also looked after the Thai U-16 and U-19 selection. In 2005 he took over the office of the Thai national coach and led the team to win the SEA Games in 2005 and a 2nd place at the ASEAN soccer championship in 2007.

In February 2007 he resigned from his position to take up a coaching position at the Vietnamese club FC Đồng Tháp . However, a contract did not materialize and so from April 2007 he was again the Thai national coach. After Thailand missed it again in June 2008 to qualify for a World Cup, Charnwit Polcheewin resigned from his post as national coach.
