The flight service Fehlhaber was a German airline based in Neustadt (Wied) .

history

Flugdienst Fehlhaber GmbH was founded in 1970 as a family business on the Koblenz-Winningen airfield . The company's headquarters were in Neustadt (Wied) . In the first few years, the aviation company mainly acted as a flight school and sightseeing flight company . From the mid-1970s, a further mainstay was created alongside passenger flights with cargo flights. Before the school was spun off into Rhein-Mosel-Flug GmbH, the flight service Fehlhaber had up to 9 aircraft (mostly single-engine) in operation in peak years. In 2006 the company primarily only operated cargo flights (based at Cologne / Bonn Airport ) with turbine-powered aircraft of the Reims-Cessna F406 (Caravan II) type. All airports in Europe that could be used for this type of aircraft were approached. Flugdienst Fehlhaber GmbH (FFG) has stopped operating since 2006.

Incidents

Company founder Rudolf Fehlhaber sen. had a fatal accident during a sightseeing flight on August 5, 1973 at around 1 p.m. with a Cessna 150 training aircraft on the heights of Kattenes (Moselle). His passenger was also killed in the crash. It is not clear how the accident with the approximately one year old aircraft came about.
