Wirtschaftsflug , actually Wirtschaftsflug Rhein-Main Limited Liability Company , or WF for short , was a German airline based in Offenbach am Main .

history

Wirtschaftsflug was founded in 1972 by Heinz Dieter Hoppenstaedt. After starting operations with business and air taxi flights, IT charter flights followed in 1979 with an Aero Commander 690 and a Fairchild F-27 rented by WDL Aviation . In 1980, in cooperation with the newspaper Extra-Tip, flights from Kassel-Calden to various major European cities were offered.

At the beginning of 1980, Wirtschaftsflug planned to enter the cargo flight business. For this purpose, the use of three Lockheed L-100-30s was considered and a cooperation with German Cargo was agreed . The first of the three machines arrived in November 1981 and was to be used for cargo flights to Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

At the end of 1982, however, Wirtschaftsflug filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations.

At the time of its existence, Wirtschaftsflug also operated aircraft of the following types:
