The Rhein-Neckar Air (RNA) is a virtual airline with seat and base at the airfield Mannheim. The flights are marketed by Rhein-Neckar Air and operated by MHS Aviation .

history

After Cirrus Airlines had to cease flight operations in January 2012, there were no more scheduled flights at Mannheim Airport. At the instigation of companies from the Rhine-Neckar region (including SAP , Heidelberg Cement and Südzucker ), the Rhein-Neckar Air GmbH was founded in 2013 by the Association for the Promotion of the Resumption of Scheduled Flight Operations at City Airport Mannheim eV 2014 began flight operations with daytime connections to Berlin-Tegel .

Destinations

Rhein-Neckar Air offers scheduled flights from Mannheim to Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg . The focus is on business travelers. In addition, RNA has also been serving the North Sea island of Sylt since 2017 . The flights will be offered four times a week (Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) in summer 2019. Due to the high demand, the island of Sylt has also been served by Kassel since June 8, 2019 .

fleet

Rhein-Neckar Air chartered three Dornier 328s from MHS Aviation for flight operations . This carries out the flights on behalf of RNA and provides both the cockpit and cabin crew. According to the legal definition, Rhein-Neckar is a virtual airline because it does not have its own air transport operator certificate ( AOC - Airline Operator Certificate ). However, RNA is the only contractual partner for passengers.
