history

After a few flights, Air Globe went bankrupt , as Swissair's monopoly of transport on regular routes destroyed the ambitions of this and other airlines. All three machines were sold to the Egyptian Air Force in December 1948 .

The fleet consisted of three Handley Page Halifax . Some of these British four-engine bombers were converted into civilian transport aircraft after World War II . Some of these machines were given the name Handley Page Halton . Air Globe had ordered four of these machines. But only three were delivered: HB-AIF, HB-AIK and HB-AIL. The fourth machine that was not delivered would have been the HB-AIM. The Halifax were powered by Air Globe by 14-cylinder Bristol Hercules 100 radial engines with 1675 hp each. All three machines came from Payloads Ltd.
