The Cessna 421 Golden Eagle is a light twin-engine propeller aircraft produced by the US manufacturer Cessna . It represents the version of the older Cessna 411 equipped with a pressurized cabin and offers space for up to eight passengers.
history
The prototype of the low- wing Cessna 421 made its maiden flight in October 1965 and delivery began in May 1967. The aircraft was fitted with two Continental GTSIO-520-D piston engines .
The improved version 421A has existed since 1969 . In 1970, production of the 421B began with a larger wingspan and higher power. The 421C from 1975 received new wings with modified tanks. The 421C has been delivered with a revised chassis since 1980.
In 1985, Cessna ceased production of propeller aircraft, including the 421, after product liability changes in the United States . A total of 1901 copies of this model series were made.
Since then, some Cessna 421s have been converted to turbo-prop propulsion and thus aligned with the Cessna 425 .
use
The Cessna 421 is still often in use today, fetching high prices in the used aircraft market.
