history
The Cessna Citation Sovereign (also Cessna 680) is based on the Cessna Citation Excel . The Midsize Jet was presented in 1998 at the National Business Aviation Association in Las Vegas . In the 1990s, Cessna saw growing interest in a jet between the existing Excel / XLS (+) and X variants . The first flight took place on February 27, 2002, which was followed by FAA approval in June . Deliveries to the first customers began that same year.
The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306Cs , which are controlled via FADEC , which is an innovation in the field of Cessna Citation.
