Yūya Oikawa

Yūya Oikawa ( Japanese 及 川 佑 , Oikawa Yūya ; born January 16, 1981 in Ikeda , Tokachi sub-prefecture , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese speed skater . He specializes in the sprint courses.

In 2004 Yūya Oikawa was Asian champion over 500 meters. The following year he reached fourth place over the same route at the Olympic Games in Turin . In 2005 and 2006 he was Japanese runner-up, again over the 500 meters. Oikawa won two world cups over 100 meters and won the overall world cup over this distance in 2005/06.
