Simon Kuipers
Simon Kuipers (born August 9, 1982 in Haarlem , North Holland ) is a Dutch former speed skater who specializes in short and medium distances .
Simon Kuipers, who was running for the IJsclub Nova Zembla Spaarndam at the time, made his debut in January 2004 at the World Cup in Collalbo . He quickly achieved good placements among the top 15, including two victories in group B of the World Cup. By November 2006 Kuipers had won a World Cup and was in the top three four times. In the overall World Cup over 1500 meters, he was sixth in the 2006/07 season. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , he narrowly missed a medal with fourth place over the 1500 meters. In 2009 he was third in the Sprint World Championship in Moscow. He lives in Spaarndam .
In March 2012, Kuipers ended his career. After an unsuccessful season, he lacks the motivation to continue, he justified his move.
