Tobias Schneider (born July 23, 1981 in Berlin-Schöneberg ) is a German speed skater who specializes in long distances.
Tobias Schneider made his debut in February 2004 at the World Cup in Hamar . After some notable successes such as two victories in the B group of the World Cup over 5000 meters (February 2004 in Inzell ) and over 1500 meters at the 2006/07 season opener in Heerenveen , he was able to run into the world elite for the first time with a seventh place over 5000 meters. In the same month he finished second over 10,000 meters at the World Cup after that in Moscow and ran a new German record, although a few world-class runners were missing.
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , the sports soldier achieved seventh place in the team race with the German men's team. The athlete , who started for the Berlin ice skating club , was twice German champion, another four times vice champion and once third. In 2006 he was voted German speed skater of the year.
