Bart Schouten

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bart Schouten (born September 12, 1967 in Haarlem ) is a successful Dutch speed skating coach.

Bart Schouten worked successfully as a trainer in the USA for a long time. There he trained among others Derek Parra , Chris Witty and Chad Hedrick , who became Olympic champions under his leadership, as well as Brigt Rykkje and, since 2003, the German Monique Garbrecht-Enfeldt .

In 2006 he moved to Germany, where he will train the German men at the Berlin base and lead them back to the top of the world. The concept of forming a group of 16 men only, but not Schouten's calling, is controversial in parts of the speed skating scene. His work already bore fruit with top placements of Tobias Schneider , Stefan Heythausen and Samuel Schwarz, who were previously unconvincing internationally , in the first World Cups of the 2006/07 season.
