Stefan Heythausen (born May 27, 1981 in Breyell , Nettetal ) is a German speed skater .

Heythausen, who comes from the Nettetal in the Lower Rhine region , is currently one of the most successful German men in speed skating . His coach is Jan Coopmans, and he has been training with the men's team at Bart Schouten since spring 2006 . He is a multiple participant in all-round European championships , world championships and world cups .

In 2005 he was able to achieve 11th place at the European all- around championship in Heerenveen and 17th place at the all- around world championship .

With the team he took 7th place at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .

In the post-Olympic year he was able to achieve a 14th place at the all- around world championships in 2007 and a 5th place with the team at the individual distance world championships. His best World Cup result in 2006/07 was 5th place over 1500 meters in Moscow . In the overall standings over this route it was only 17th place.
