Hans Abraham von Gersdorff

Hans Abraham von Gersdorff (* 22. January 1609 in Kay ; † 4. September 1678 in Torgau ) was a German electoral Saxon major general of cavalry and war commissioner .

Life

Hans Abraham came from the von Gersdorff family . His parents were Hans von Gersdorff auf Kay and Barbara geb. Kalckreuth from Blumberg .

Since 1627 Gersdorff fought as colonel of the cavalry, later also as sergeant general and major general in the Thirty Years' War .

He was Electoral Saxon Chamberlain , secret and war council , captain of the offices Torgau Oschatz and Mutzschen , pen captain to Wurzen and continue Mr. on Kay, Kreischa , Gerkowitz , Weißig and Lösten.

With his functions and offices he was in the service of Elector Johann Georg II of Saxony .

Gersdorff was married to Johanna von Ponickau , a daughter of Johann von Ponickau (1584–1642). 1676 they sold the manor Kreischau with the corresponding Vorwerk Görnewitz in office Schweinitz as a supplement to the dowry of her daughter her son Andreas Adrian Borck (1629-1690).
