Denmark took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal with a delegation of 66 athletes (56 men and 10 women) in 40 competitions in 15 sports.

The Danish athletes won one gold medal and two bronze medals. Olympic champions were the sailors Valdemar Bandolowski , Erik Hansen and Poul Høj Jensen in the boat class Soling . The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the rower Judith Andersen .
