Denmark participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .
The nation has competed in all of the modern summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1904 St. Louis Olympic Games . She has participated in the Olympics 24 times and was represented in Beijing for the 25th time. The Danish Sports Federation ( Danmarks Idræts-Forbund , DIF for short) announced an official target of seven medals.
The Olympic roster, consisting of 83 athletes in 16 sports, was announced on June 21, 2008 and confirmed on July 8. The flag bearer at the Olympic opening ceremony was the shot putter Joachim Olsen .

Success Bonuses
Team Danmark awarded the medal winners the following success bonuses: DKK 100,000 for a gold medal, DKK 70,000 for a silver medal and DKK 35,000 for a bronze medal. According to the Danish newspaper Politiken, a total of 1,230,000 DKK was paid out as a bonus.

Kasper Bleibach was able to qualify for the Olympic Games in Milan with the European Championship title in 2008. Henriette Engel Hansen won the B-final in Milan and the two-man around René Holten Poulsen and Kim Wraae Knudsen won the European championship in Milan.
