Kasper Søndergaard Sarup (born June 9, 1981 in Breum , Skive Kommune , Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player . His body length is 1.90 m.
Søndergaard, who played for the Danish top club Skjern Håndbold and ran for the Danish national team (shirt number 22), was mostly used in the right backcourt .
Kasper Søndergaard started playing handball in his hometown. He later moved to the next largest club Skive fH to Ikast-Bording Elite Håndbold , where he made his debut in the Danish second division. In 2003 he moved on to the first division club Århus GF, where he also knew how to convince, so that he was called to the national team and signed by KIF Kolding in early 2007 . With KIF he won the Danish championship in 2009. In summer 2011 he joined Skjern Håndbold. In the Håndboldligaen 2013/14 he was the best right back player in the All-Star team. With Skjern he won the Danish Cup of the 2013/14 season on March 29, 2015 and the Danish Cup of the 2015/16 season on February 6, 2017. He was also Danish champion in the 2017/18 season. After the 2019/20 season, he ended his career and took over as assistant coach at Skjern Håndbold.
Kasper Søndergaard made 184 appearances for the Danish national team. At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 and at the European Championships in Serbia in 2012 , he was European Champion ; in the 2007 World Cup he won in Germany with his country bronze . In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London . In 2013 he won the silver medal at the World Cup in Spain. At the 2014 European Championships in his own country, he was runner-up in Europe. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
