Skive Kommune is a Danish municipality in Jutland . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform by merging the "old" Skive municipality with the previous municipalities of Sallingsund , Spøttrup and Sundsøre in the Viborg office .
Skive municipality has a total population of 45,851 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 683.40 km². It is part of the Midtjylland region .
The municipal administration is based in the town of Skive .
