Lasse Motzkus Boesen [ boːsn ] (born September 18, 1979 in Vamdrup ) is a former Danish handball player who was active for many years in the Danish national team . His playing position was the left back space .
Career
He started his career at KIF Kolding in his hometown of Kolding. From 2003 to 2006 he played at the Spanish top club SDC San Antonio in Pamplona , with whom he won the Spanish championship in 2005 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2004; He also moved into the final of the EHF Champions League in 2003 and 2006 . For the 2006/07 season he returned to his home club. In the 2007/08 season he played in the handball Bundesliga at TBV Lemgo . There he received a one-year contract. For the 2008/09 season he signed a three-year contract with SG Flensburg-Handewitt . After this contract he returned to his home club in Kolding. He ended his career after the 2014/15 season.
Lasse Boesen has played 159 international matches for Denmark . At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 he was European champion . At the 2007 World Cup in Germany, he and his team won the bronze medal . In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London . After losing in the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games, he announced his resignation from the national team.
Boesen worked as a sports director at KIF from 2015 . For the 2016/17 season he also took on the position of assistant coach. In June 2018, he left his functions at KIF.

Private
Lasse Boesen is married to the former handball player Lene Motzkus . His father Jens gained a high profile as a handball official at KIF Kolding. His sister Mia also plays handball successfully.
