Mia Boesen [ boːsn ] (born January 24, 1988 in Vamdrup ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Boesen started playing handball at KIF Kolding . Later Boesen was there on the squad of the women's team, which played in the highest Danish league. At first she played in the back room and was only later converted into a circle runner. With KIF she was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2010 , but the team failed at the top Montenegrin club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica . In the summer of 2012 she signed a contract with the German second division club Füchse Berlin . She left Berlin after a season. She later took on the position of Implementation Manager at EHF . Since summer 2018 she has been working as an event manager for the Danish league association.

Mia Boesen was a member of the Danish youth and junior national team from 1988/89, with which she won both the World and European Championships.

Private

Her father Jens made a name for himself as a handball official at KIF Kolding. Her brother Lasse was a member of the Danish national handball team for many years.
