Ireland took at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing for the nineteenth time participated in Summer Olympics. The Irish team was named by the Olympic Council of Ireland . It consisted of 54 athletes in 12 disciplines. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was Ciara Peelo.
