Paul Hession (born January 27, 1983 in Athenry ) is an Irish sprinter .

Over 200 m he was eliminated at the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 , won silver at the Universiade 2003 in Daegu and failed in the first round of the 2004 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest.

In 2005 he reached the semi-finals at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Madrid and the quarter-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki over 200 m . He won bronze at the Universiade in İzmir .

At the EM 2006 in Gothenburg he reached the semi-finals over 200 m.

In 2007 he was seventh over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham , reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Osaka over 200 m and was eighth in the World Athletics Finals .

In 2008 he reached the semi-finals over 200 m at the Olympic Games in Beijing and came second at the World Athletics Finals.

In 2009 he narrowly missed the 60m finals at the European Indoor Championships in Turin . Over 200 m he reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Berlin and came fifth at the World Athletics Finals.

He also finished sixth over 200 m at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona and was eliminated in the preliminary stages at the 2011 World Cup in Daegu.

In 2012 he finished eighth in the 200 m at the European Championships in Helsinki and did not get past the first round at the Olympic Games in London .
