Peter Henriksen (born August 20, 1972 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish handball player .

The 1.84 m tall and 88 kg heavy handball goalkeeper began his career at the Danish club Helsingør IF . He came to German Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach via Ajax Copenhagen in 1998 . After only one season he returned to Denmark to Virum-Sorgenfri HK , with whom he played in the 2000/01 EHF Cup . From 2001 to 2010 he played for GOG Svendborg TGI , with whom he became Danish champions in 2004 and 2007 and cup winners in 2003, 2004 and 2006. In the 2004/05 season he was selected as the best goalkeeper in the Håndboldligaen in the All-Star team. He was represented internationally every year and reached the quarter-finals of the 2005/06 EHF Cup. After Gudmes went bankrupt in 2010, he signed with Fredericia KFUM, where he ended his career in the summer of 2011. In March 2012, AG Copenhagen reactivated him , with whom he was again champion and cup winner. In the EHF Champions League 2011/12 he reached the Final Four .

In the Danish national team , Peter Henriken made his debut on January 2, 1997 against Sweden and until 2008 played 71 international matches . He took part in the 2007 World Cup in Germany and won bronze. At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 he was European champion. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he finished seventh.
