René Schillemann (born January 5, 1908 in Mulhouse ; † November 6, 1947 there ) was a French football player .

Career

The midfielder Schillemann began playing football in his Alsatian homeland and played in the CA Mulhouse jersey during the 1932/33 season . In the summer of 1933 he was signed by the first division club Olympique Marseille , which equated to the leap into professional football . On September 3, 1933, the then 25-year-old made his debut in the French top division in a 4-0 win against OGC Nice . Subsequently, he was occasionally used, but he did not have a permanent seat.

In April 1934, the player was involved in a 1-0 win against RC Roubaix , which secured a place in the 1934 national cup final . He was not originally intended to be part of the final, but then moved up to replace Riahi Rabih . In the match, Marseille met FC Sète and were inferior to them with 1: 2, which meant that Schillemann failed to win the trophy. Following the final, he left Marseille after a year with eight first division games without scoring his own and found a new employer in the second division SM Caen . For this he played until 1938. The former professional died in 1947 at the age of 39 in his home town of Mulhouse.
