Denmark took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with a delegation of 60 athletes (53 men and 7 women) in 40 competitions in ten competitions.

The Danish athletes won two gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Olympic champions were the rowers John Ørsted Hansen , Bjørn Hasløv , Erik Petersen and Kurt Helmudt in the four without a helmsman and the sailors Ole Berntsen , Christian von Bülow and Ole Poulsen in the dragon boat class . The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the sailor Henning Wind .
