Nigeria took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with 18 athletes. For the first time the country won an Olympic medal. The country reachednumber 35in the medal table. A total of 16 male and 2 female athletes took part in the sports of athletics and boxing . The youngest athlete was 19 and the oldest 33.
