Finland took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with a delegation of 89 athletes (84 men and 5 women) in 64 competitions in 13 sports.

The Finnish athletes won three gold and two bronze medals. With that, Finland took twelfth place in the medal table . Olympic champions were the athlete Pauli Nevala in the javelin throw, as well as the marksmen Pentti Linnosvuo with the rapid-fire pistol and Väinö Markkanen with the free pistol. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was gymnast Eugen Ekman .
