List of Olympic medalists from Finland
The Olympic history of Finland began in 1906 with the private participation of some Finnish athletes in the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games . Initially, participation was still under Russian flag as the Russian Empire belonging autonomous Grand Duchy place, the results were, however, of which Russia separately. Finland has participated as an independent country since 1920 and has since been present at all Summer Olympics and the Winter Games that took place from 1924 onwards.
So far (as of March 5, 2014) Finland was able to win 302 medals (101 gold, 84 silver and 117 bronze) at the Summer Olympics , making it 12th among the most successful countries. At the Olympic Winter Games there were 168 medals, of which 43 gold, 64 silver and 61 bronze, which brings Finland 9th place in the country ranking . This results in 12th place in the all-time medal table of the Olympic Games with 470 medals, including 144 gold, 148 silver and 178 bronze.
In total, Finnish athletes were able to win these 470 Olympic medals. The following sub-lists provide an overview of all these athletes and their results at the Olympic Games.
- Art competitions
- Art competitions were held at the Olympic Games from 1912 to 1948. In 1924 a Finn took part for the first time, another in 1936 and nine Finns took part in the last event in 1948.
