The NOK of Serbia and Montenegro and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was founded in 1919 as the all-Yugoslav association Jugoslovenski olimpijski komitet and accepted by the International Olympic Committee in 1920 .

Medals balance

A total of 59 athletes from Serbia and Montenegro and from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were able to win nine Olympic medals (2 × gold, 4 × silver and 3 × bronze). Of these, only two silver medals go to the competition under the country name Serbia and Montenegro at the 2004 Games. In 1996 and 2000 the country name was still the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
