Denis Šefik

Denis Šefik , in Cyrillic Денис Шефик , (born September 20, 1976 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian water polo goalkeeper, who has meanwhile accepted Montenegrin citizenship and is in goal for the Montenegrin Water Polo Association. Denis Šefik is currently playing in Montenegro for PVK Budva . He is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

National team

With the national team, Šefik won three medals at the world championships (one gold, one silver and one bronze medal). He became European champion in 2001 and 2003. In the world league he won a gold medal and a bronze medal. He worked 95 times for the Serbian national team (as of December 31, 2005). In 2006 he won the gold medal with the Serbian national team at the European Championships in Belgrade.
