List of Olympic medalists from Iran
The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran was founded in 1947 and became a member of the International Olympic Committee that same year .

So far, 443 (429 men, 14 women) athletes from Iran have won 69 Olympic medals (19 gold, 22 silver and 28 bronze).
The youngest athlete to date is the gymnast Jamileh Sorouri (14 years, 226 days) at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo , the oldest is table tennis player Majid Reza Ehteshamzadeh (43 years, 278 days) at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney .
At the 2012 Summer Olympics , Iran won an athletics medal in the men's discus throw for the first time. All other medals were won in wrestling , weightlifting, and taekwondo .
The most successful Iranians to date are Hadi Saei (2 × gold and 1 × bronze), Hossein Rezazadeh (2 × gold), Gholamreza Takhti (1 × gold and 2 × silver) and Mohammad Nassiri (1 × gold, 1 × silver and 1 × bronze).
The youngest medalist is freestyle wrestler Nasser Givehchi , who won silver at the Helsinki Featherweight Games at the age of 16 .
