Abdollah Movahed ( Persian عبدالله موحد* 10. March 1940 in Babolsar , Māzandarān ) is a former Iranian wrestlers in free style . He was a participant in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 and in Mexico City in 1968 .

Career

Abdollah Movahed comes from the Iranian province of Māzandarān . He started wrestling at school and proved extremely talented at freestyle. Above all, he was technically top class. When he managed to get stronger physically, he was almost unbeatable. At the 1963 World Championships and the 1964 Olympic Games, he was not yet able to win, but from 1965 to 1970 he was successful at five World Championships in a row and the 1968 Olympic Games. He also won the title at the Asian Games in 1966 in the weight class up to 70 kg and in 1970 in the weight class up to 68 kg.

Klaus Rost , German silver medalist from 1964, lost to him at the 1963, 1969 and 1971 World Championships and the 1968 Olympic Games. Enju Waltschew Dimow from Bulgaria could never win against Movahed. From 1965 to 1970, Movahed stayed in all competitions in which he started winning and not losing.

After finishing his career he lived temporarily in the USA . In 2004 he was inducted into the FILA International Wrestling Hall of Fame for his services to wrestling .
