Ali Akbar Heidari ( Persian علی اکبر حیدری, Born July 14, 1941 ) is a former Iranian freestyle wrestler . He was a participant in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo he competed in the flyweight (52 kg) and was third behind Jang-Chang Seon ( South Korea ) and Yoshikatsu Yoshida from Japan and thus won bronze.

Ali Akbar Heidari was also a member of the Iranian national wrestling team at the 1965 World Wrestling Championships in Manchester . Although he u. a. beat the later vice world champion Baju Baew from Bulgaria , he just missed the medal ranks and was fourth.

He won his last medal at the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1966 when he won bronze in the flyweight division.
