World Wrestling Championships 1965

The wrestling world championships in 1965 took place separately in different locations according to style. The wrestlers were divided into eight weight classes.

Greco-Roman

The Greco-Roman style competitions took place in Tampere from June 6th to 8th, 1965 . The wrestlers of the Soviet Union were dominant and won seven out of eight possible gold medals. Only Amari Egadse could not place in the medal ranks with a 14th place in the -57 kg weight class.
