Women
The women's competitions took place in Lørenskog from October 24-25 , 1987 . At these first women's world championships, the free style was defined by the FILA as a uniform style . There were 48 wrestlers from 8 nations (Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Japan, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden) at the start, of which only the Finns and Swedes did not win any medals. While there were ten participants in the -57 kg weight class, there were only two in the -75 kg weight class, so no bronze medals were awarded there.
