World Wrestling Championships 1969
The World Wrestling Championships 1969 took place from March 3 to 10, 1969 in Mar del Plata . It was wrestled in both Greco-Roman and free styles . The wrestlers were divided into ten weight classes for the first time at world championships .
Greco-Roman
The Greco-Roman style competitions took place from March 3rd to 5th, 1969. The Soviet Union was able to celebrate athletes on the podium in all 10 competitions. The best Swiss was Siegfried Hell with a 6th place in the weight class -100 kg.

The freestyle competitions took place from March 8 to March 10, 1969. The best Swiss was Peter Jutzeler in fourth place in the -100 kg weight class. The best Germans were Rolf Lacour , Paul Neff , Werner Hettich and Adolf Seger , all of whom took 5th place in their weight class.
