World Wrestling Championships 1975
The 1975 World Wrestling Championships took place in Minsk from September 11 to 18, 1975 . It was wrestled in both Greco-Roman and free styles . The wrestlers were divided into ten weight classes.
Greco-Roman
The Greco-Roman style competitions took place from September 11-14, 1975. Apart from the Bulgarians Kamen Losanow Goranow and Alexandar Tomow , the wrestlers from the host Soviet Union won all of the other eight remaining gold medals. Only Nikolai Balboschin could not place himself on the medal ranks with a fourth place in the weight class -100 kg. In addition to the German medal winners, Dieter Heuer was fourth in the -90 kg weight class and Heinz-Helmut Wehling was sixth in the -68 kg weight class for the GDR and Thomas Passarelli was sixth in the -62 kg weight class for Germany among the best six .

Freestyle
The freestyle competitions took place from September 15 to 18, 1975. In addition to the German medal winners, Willi Heckmann from Germany took sixth place in the -48 kg weight class and Peter Neumair in the -90 kg weight class and Helmut Strumpf from the GDR in the -62 kg weight class.
