World Wrestling Championships 1985

The wrestling world championships in 1985 took place separately in different locations according to style. The wrestlers were divided into ten weight classes.

Greco-Roman

The Greco-Roman style competitions took place from August 8 to 11, 1985 in Kolbotn . Of the Soviet wrestlers who started, only Kamandar Madschydau missed a medal in sixth place in the -62 kg weight class.

The free style competitions were held in Budapest from October 10th to 13th, 1985 . Of the Soviet wrestlers who started, only Vladimir Djugutow in the -74 kg weight class and Robert Tibilow in the -90 kg weight class missed medal ranks in fourth place.
