World Wrestling Championships 1958
The 1958 Wrestling World Championships took place in Budapest from July 24 to 27, 1958 . The wrestlers were divided into eight weight classes. In contrast to 1957 , the wrestling was not in the free , but in the Greco-Roman style . The Soviet Union celebrated athletes on the podium in all eight competitions. Anton Geesink , who later became world champion and Olympic champion in judo, was sixth in the -87 kg class.
