Rolf Lacour (born June 26, 1937 in Saarbrücken ; † January 28, 2018 in Köllerbach ) was a German wrestler .

Career

Rolf Lacour grew up in Saarland and started wrestling at a young age in Burbach , a district of Saarbrücken. In the youth and junior sector he has not yet been able to place in the front field at German championships. In 1959, at the age of 22, he was second in the German freestyle championship , flyweight . From then on he was one of the top German class, a few years later he also reached the top of the world, to which he belonged until 1972. Rolf Lacour started for KSV Köllerbach , for which he was still successful in team fights in the 1980s. He was an employee of the city of Saarbrücken.

The greatest success in Rolf Lacour's career was winning the runner-up world title in 1965 in the Greco-Roman style flyweight. After the introduction of paper weight in 1969, this year it started successfully in this weight class, which had its weight limit with a body weight of only 48 kg. That year he became European champion in the Greco-Roman style in Modena .

Success at German championships

Rolf Lacour won the German Greco-Roman style flyweight championship in 1962, 1963, 1967 and 1969, in free style in 1962, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1972 in paper weight (ten titles in total). In addition, he was German runner-up eleven times. His main competitors were Paul Neff , Schifferstadt , Albert Wieser and Fritz Huber , both Bad Reichenhall and Mario Sabattini , Freiburg im Breisgau . With his club, KSV Köllerbach, he also won the German team championship in 1966 and 1968.
