Flyweight
In professional boxing, the flyweight is the weight class between the light flyweight and the super flyweight. Fighters in this weight class weigh more than 49 kg and less than 52 kg.
Professional boxing
The flyweight is the most recently introduced weight class of the eight traditional boxing categories. Before 1909, all fighters below featherweight counted - regardless of their size - to the bantamweight. The federation, which later became the British Boxing Board of Control , held a fight in 1911 that crowned Sid Smith as the first world flyweight champion. Dominating from 1914 to 1923, Jimmy Wilde was the first fighter to be recognized as a world flyweight champion in both Great Britain and the United States.
Other major flyweights include Pancho Villa , Walter McGowan , Pascual Pérez , Pone Kingpetch , Miguel Canto , Dave McAuley , Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson , Manny Pacquiao , Jorge Arce , Vic Darchinyan , Nonito Donaire and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam .
