Omar Andrés Narváez (born July 10, 1975 in Trelew ) is an Argentine boxer in the super fly and flyweight .

Career

Narváez took part in the 1996 Olympic Games, where he lost to the Algerian Mehdi Assous in his second fight . Four years later, in the same round, Vladimir Sidorenko from Ukraine was stronger. Numerous medals at continental and world championships as an amateur since 1997 led to his move to the professional camp; Narváez fought his first fight in this area in December 2000.

On July 13, 2002 Narváez boxed in the flyweight against Adonis Rivas for the world title of the association WBO and won by a unanimous decision of the judges. He defended this title 16 times and put it down in 2009 when he switched to super flyweight. In his first fight in this weight class he was on May 15, 2010 with a unanimous victory over Everth Briceno WBO World Champion. He defended this title a total of seven times and lost it at the end of December 2014 to Naoya Inoue by knockout in round 2. Both lost title fights are his only defeats with 44 wins.
