Adonis Rivas

Adonis Antonio Rivas Ordóñez (born December 7, 1972 in León ) is a Nicaraguan boxer in the super fly and flyweight division .

Professional career

In 1995 Rivas made his debut as a professional boxer and won his first nine fights. On November 20, 1999, he became WBO super flyweight world champion with a unanimous victory on points over Diego Morales . He defended this title the following year against Pedro Morquecho and Joel Luna Zarate and lost it in June 2001 to Pedro Alcázar by a split judge's decision. In February 2014 he resigned with a total of 22 wins and 15 defeats.
