Ehsan Naser Lashgari

Ehsan Naser Lashgari (born August 30, 1985 in Qazvin ) is an Iranian wrestler . He won at the Olympic Games 2012 in London , a bronze medal in free style in the middleweight division .

Career

Ehsan Lashgari is a member of the "Takhti" wrestling club Qazvin . He is a late starter because he only started wrestling at the age of 17 in 2002. He concentrates on the free style. His trainer is Reza Hosseini. At a height of 1.78 meters, he is a stocky and very powerful wrestler in the middleweight category (weight class up to 84 kg body weight).

He has been wrestling at international tournaments since 2008. In 2009 he was the first Asian middleweight champion in Pattaya ahead of Lee Jae-sung from South Korea . He successfully defended this title in New Delhi in 2010 . He won there ahead of Semjon Semjonow from Kazakhstan , Shinya Matsumoto from Japan and Zhang Feng from China . In the same year he also took part in a world championship for the first time. But he lost his first fight against Gheorghiță Ștefan from Romania in Moscow . Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came in 18th place.

In 2012 he won the Asian middleweight championship for the third time in a row in Gumi / South Korea in front of Lee Jae-sung, Naoki Momma, Japan and Yusup Abdusalamow , Tajikistan . He then qualified at a tournament in Astana by winning against Sajurbek Sochijew from Uzbekistan for participation in the Olympic Games in London . In London he won over Yerlan Baidujaschow, Kazakhstan , Gadschimurad Nurmagomedow, Armenia and Ansor Urischew , the Russian champion. In the semifinals he lost against the reigning world champion Sharif Sharifow from Azerbaijan with 1: 2 rounds and 3: 3 technical points. Sharifov was then also Olympic champion and Ehsan Lashgari secured an Olympic bronze medal in the consolation round with a victory over Ibrahim Bolukbasi from Turkey.
