Abdusalam gadisov ( Russian Абдусалам Маматханович Гадисов , Avar ХІадисов Маматханил ГІабдусалам * 26. March 1989 in Makhachkala , Dagestan ASSR , RSFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2011 and 2014 he was European champion and in 2014 also world champion in free style.

Career

The Dagestan Abdussalam Gadissow began wrestling as a teenager in 1999 and is now a member of Dinamo Wladikawkas . He wrestles exclusively in free style and is trained by Ali Aliyev and Sagid Murtasalijew. He is a student and currently makes a living by wrestling.

In 2008 he became Russian junior middleweight champion and started at the Junior World Championship that year in Istanbul , where he won the title with five superior victories.

In 2009, the young athlete surprised the Russian wrestling world by winning the title at the Russian championship, where the middleweight division was about to succeed Georgi Ketojew , who had switched to the light heavyweight division in 2008 . In the final, he defeated Albert Saritov on points. European champion Soslan Kzojew only came 3rd. The Russian Wrestling Association was so consistent and used the 20-year-old Abdussalam at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark .

In Herning he won the middleweight division over Anthony Junior Fasugba from Italy , Armands Zvirbulis from Latvia and István Veréb from Hungary . In the semifinals, he met the American newcomer Jake Herbert . He won the first round 4-0 technically. Points, the second round he gave up with a tie of 2: 2 because of the last score for Herbert and he also gave the third round very close with 0: 1 techn. Points off. So he had lost the fight 1: 2 rounds (4: 0, 2: 2, 0: 1). In the final fight he still had the opportunity to win a bronze medal in the fight against Sharif Sharifow from Azerbaijan . But he didn't find his way into the fight and clearly lost it with 0: 2 rounds (0: 2, 0: 3), which put him in 5th place.

2010 and 2011 Abdussalam Gadissow did not appear in an international championship. In the fall of 2011, however, he made an important decision: he switched to the light heavyweight division so that he no longer had to workout all the time. A decision that had an immediate positive effect at the beginning of 2012, because he won the competition in this weight class at the important Golden Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk and thus qualified for participation in the European Championship in Belgrade . In Belgrade he was also able to convince and win the European championship with victories over Radoslaw Baran from Poland , Adrian Recorean from Romania , Georgi Atanasow Sredkow from Bulgaria, Iwan Jankowski from Belarus and Valeri Andriizew from Ukraine. With that he created an excellent starting position for the nomination for the Olympic Games in London in the Russian Wrestling Association .

In the winter season 2011/12 Abdussalam Gadissow wrestled in the Iranian professional league for the club Samenolhojaj Sabzevar . He defeated the reigning world champion Reza Yazdani , who started for Khoone be Khoone Babol , on points in the final of the Iranian championship . In spring 2012, he qualified at a tournament in Sofia with a win ahead of Georgi Gogschelidze , Georgia, Nicolae Ceban , Moldova and Alen Sasijew, Ukraine, for participation in the Olympic Games in Sofia. In London he won his first fight over Taimuras Tigijew from Kazakhstan, but lost in his next fight against Reza Yazdani. Since this did not reach the final, he had to retire and only finished in 9th place.

In 2013 he took part in the Universiade in Kazan, where he won the final over Pavlo Oleinik , Ukraine, and became the world champion of universities.

In 2014 he took part in the European Championship in Vantaa / Finland. He started in the weight class up to 97 kg body weight and won the title in a superior style with victories over Jere Tapani Heino, Finland, William Harth, Germany, Attila Szmik, Hungary, Nicolai Ceban , Moldova and Chetag Gasjumow. After Abdussalam Gadissow had also become Russian champion in the weight class up to 97 kg in June 2014, he was also used at the world championships in Tashkent that year. He was well prepared there and became world champion for the first time with victories over Arjun Singh Gill, Canada, Javier Cortina, Cuba, Zhang Xueyi, China, Samil Erdogan , Turkey and in the final again over the experienced Chetag Gasjumow from Azerbaijan.

At the 1st European Games 2015 in Baku, Abdussalam Gadissow took 3rd place in the light heavyweight division. After losing to Chetag Gasjumow in the semifinals, he secured this bronze medal by defeating Poland's Radoslaw Baran. At this year's World Cup he was in excellent shape, but was still unable to defend his 2014 World Cup title, as he surprisingly lost in the final to the 19-year-old American Kyle Snyder .

In 2016 Abdussalam Gadissow became military world champion in the weight class up to 97 kg in Skopje. He could not qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

From 2017 he only wrestled in the professional pro wrestling league in India.
