Nicolai Ceban

Nicolai Ceban (born March 30, 1986 in Chișinău ) is a Moldovan wrestler .

Career

Nicolai Ceban started wrestling in 1999 at the age of 13. He is a member of the Victoria Chișinău sports club and is trained there by Nicolai Oriol. He is a student of economics and wrestles at a height of 1.84 meters in the light heavyweight category, up to 96 kg body weight. He concentrates entirely on free style.

He achieved his greatest successes as a junior. In 2006 he became vice-European middleweight champion in Szombathely behind Alexander Chusrajew from Russia and in the same year he also won the Junior World Championships in Guatemala City in the same weight class with 3rd place behind Imants Lagodskis , Latvia and Edgar Yenokjan , Armenia a bronze medal.

In 2007, at the age of 18, he took part in the senior world championships in Baku for the first time in the light heavyweight division , where he won the first round over Andreas Sidanaris, Cyprus , but lost in the next round to Chetag Gasjumow , Azerbaijan , was eliminated and finished in 16th place. Space. In 2008 he won the European Championships in Tampere over Imants Lagodskis and Swiad Bichsischwili, Netherlands .
