Maciej Balawender
Maciej Balawender (born December 7, 1988 ) is a Polish wrestler .
Career
Maciej Balawender started wrestling as a teenager in 1998. His first club was Stal Rzeszów , now he is wrestling for WKS Grundwald Poznań . He is trained by Piotr Krajewski. He wrestles exclusively in free style. With a height of 1.81 meters he weighs almost 90 kg, but trains for the championship fights in the middleweight division . He is also well known in Germany because he played for TSV Benningen in the 2010/11 Bundesliga season and for KSV Aalen 05 in the 2011/12 season . He is a member of the Polish army, but can z. Concentrate fully on wrestling at the moment.
As a junior ring in Poland he was already among the top of his age group. In 2004 he also started for the first time at an international championship, the Junior European Championship (Cadets) in Istanbul . In the weight class up to 63 kg he came in 10th place. Since 2007 he starts regularly at the Grand Prix of Germany , first in Leipzig , then in Dortmund . The best place he achieved was in 2010 a 3rd place in the middleweight division behind David Bichinaschwili , Germany and István Veréb , Hungary .
In 2010 Maciej Balawender finished 2nd at the Middleweight World Championship in Lahti behind Iranian Esmael Nejaeyan. In the same year he started at the World Championships in Moscow and came there to victories over Dejan Bogdanow, Macedonia and Atsushi Matsumoto from Japan . In the quarterfinals he lost to Mikhail Ganew from Bulgaria . Since this was world champion, he was able to continue in the consolation round, but lost to Piotr Janulow from Moldova and came in 7th place.
He took a very good 5th place at the 2011 European Championships in Dortmund . In the middleweight division he came there to a victory over Said Hajew, France , then lost to Ansor Urischew from Russia , won over Alex Dolly, Ireland and was defeated in the battle for a bronze medal against Sharif Sharifov from Azerbaijan . He did not start at the 2011 World Cup.
Maciej Balawender became Polish Vice-Champion in 2008 and 2010 and Polish Champion in the U 23 age group in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
