List of Olympic medalists from Denmark
THE
Danmarks Olympiske Komité , part of the Danmarks Idræts-Forbund since 1993 , was accepted by the International Olympic Committee in 1905 . The country was nevertheless represented with its own team at the 1st Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 .
Medals balance
By 2012, 427 athletes from Denmark had won 194 Olympic medals (45 gold, 74 silver and 75 bronze). All but one were won at summer games. The only medal at the Winter Games was a silver one in curling in Nagano in 1998 .
