Heidi Holme Astrup (born May 31, 1972 in Viborg ) is a former Danish handball player .
Career
Astrup started playing handball at Viborg HK at the age of six . Later, the back player was part of the Viborg HK women's squad. After Astrup went hunting for goals for the Japanese club Chateraise in the 1997/98 season, she then returned to Viborg. By the end of the 2002/03 season, she won the Danish championship eight times with Viborg and the EHF Cup twice .
In 2003 she signed a contract with league rivals Aalborg DH . After two years in Aalborg, she rejoined Viborg HK. With Viborg she won another championship in 2006 and the EHF Champions League . In 2007 she moved to the second division Skive fH , where she also worked as an assistant coach. Due to pregnancy, she ended her career there in 2008. In 2011 she worked as an assistant trainer in Viborg from April to June. In November 2014 Astrup made a brief comeback at Viborg HK at the age of 42. In February 2015 she took over the position as assistant trainer at the VHK again.
Astrup was a member of the Danish national team from 1990 . With Denmark she won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games and the European Championships in 1994 and 1996 . After the European Championship in 1996 Astrup ended her international career, but she returned again in 2007 for a few internationals.
