history

The team after the lost championship final in 2009

The club was founded in 2001 under the name HS Nord. After the women's team in the Damehåndboldligaen - the highest Danish league - rose, the club was renamed Aalborg DH. In the 2004/05 season, the women's team reached the final of the Danish championship, which was lost to Slagelse DT . In the following season, Aalborg DH took part in the EHF Champions League for the first time, where the team advanced to the semi-finals. In the domestic Danish league, the team won the bronze medal. In the 2006/07 season, Aalborg repeated winning the bronze medal and reached the quarter-finals in the Champions League. In 2009 Aalborg DH stood for the second time in the final of the Danish championship, which this time was lost to Viborg HK . After the club took part in the Champions League again in the following season, however, further successes failed to materialize. The club later got into financial difficulties, which led to bankruptcy in the summer of 2013 and finally to the dissolution of the club.
